Canada Day Festival

Participant Regulations and Guidelines

  • Festival Date and Times
    • July 1st 2024, 11am - 10pm 
  • Location
    • Toddy Jones Park, 50 North St. Amherstburg
  • Set Up and Take Down Schedule
    • Set up must take place between at 7am-9am on July 1 due to road closures and electrical inspection times.
    • Take down July 1 no earlier than 6pm. Activities at Toddy Jones begin to slow down starting at 6pm but the fireworks are at 10pm, therefore potentials sales may be lost between the hors of 6-11pm.
  • Vendor Cost
    • $250 for the day.
    • An invoice will be emailed to you upon notifaction of approval of application (May 2, 2024). At that time you will be given instructions on payment for your vendor spot.
  • Insurance
    • The Town of Amherstburg must be additionally insured for the day of the festival on your insurance policy.  (Address to be indicated on insurance policy: Town of Amherstburg, 271 Sandwich St. S., Amherstburg ON, N9V 2A5)

  • Liability Agreement
    • As a vendor I agree to save harmless and forever indemnify the Corporation of the Town of Amherstburg, its employees, officers, agents and contractors from all manner of actions, claims, demands, damages, interest, and costs, including the cost of defending all actions on a solicitor and own client basis, howsoever arising from the presence, use or operation by the undersigned on or near the streets of the Town of Amherstburg for the purpose of the event set out on this form, save and except, those actions, claims, demand, damages, interest and cost arising from the deliberate acts or the gross negligence of the Corporation of the Town of Amherstburg or its employees, officers, agents or contractors.
  • Certification
    • You must provide a copy of current Mobile Food Service Equipment Annual Inspection Certification (TSSA).

  • Booth Space
    • 20'x20'
  • Washrooms
    • Washroom facilities are onsite.
  • Board of Health
    • All food vendors must be in compliance with all Board of Health codes.  The following issues are of primary concern to the Board of Health:  Food must be covered at all times; all meats must be stored in a cooler or refridgerator and maintained at a proper temperature at all times.  Please avoid prepping food on site.  Be sure to bring your test kits, thermometer, bleach solution, covered garbage container, hats and proper hygiene.  Please visit Windsor Essex Health Unit for additional information.
  • Vendor Parking
    • The Food Truck is the only vehicle permitted on the 20x20 space in Toddy Jones Park.  All additional vehicles can be parked at the previous Bus Bays for the General Amherst High School on Laird Ave.
  • Application Due Date
    • May 1, 2024
